My name is Luise König, and I come from a small village in Brandenburg.

Since 2010 I live with my husband and our two daughters in a passive house in Bestensee near Berlin.

As an artist, I am driven by the question of how much or how little is necessary to capture the essence of a figure or a face.

I explore these boundaries in a time when we often drift into excess.

My goal is to find the way back to the essential, to what connects us all.

The use of light and shadow is my central creative element.

My style could be described as a blend of realism and stylization, always reflecting my experience as a woman in the modern world.

I work both traditionally and digitally, using materials such as charcoal, graphite, watercolors, and ink.
